What inspires your photography?

Joe

I’m inspired by nature, especially flowers and their ability to evoke memories and emotions. Every time I see a sweet pea, I think of my mum’s garden. The seasons also play a huge role in shaping my work, reflecting the changing beauty around us.

How would you describe the essence of your photography in a single image?

Joe

My style is best captured in a photo where flowers are arranged in a dense, almost surreal way. I love to highlight details we might miss, making the ordinary extraordinary and letting people see flowers in a new light.

What moment or experience has changed your photography journey?

Joe

The most humbling moment for me was realizing I could turn my passion into a career. I’ve always wanted to be an artist, and being able to do this every day keeps me grounded and grateful.

What are your must-have tools or gear?

Joe

My go-to tool is my Canon R6 M2—I’ve always stuck with Canon. I use natural light, especially sunlight, as my main light source, which plays a big role in how my photos turn out. I also work with live flowers, collecting them from the wild based on the season. Nature is a key part of my setup, and I focus on bringing out its unique qualities in my work.

Can you share one of the most memorable shots you've captured?

Joe

It was actually a photo I took when I was 15 with my first DSLR—a shot of a young boy standing in front of a burning house near my childhood home. I was so proud of that photo, and it was the moment I realized just how much I loved photography.
